Pulau Ubin is the only place untouched by urbanisation in Singapore. the air is always fresh as there is practically no vehicles allowed. Well, at least for Pulau Ubin, is far more exciting. Besides for different kinds of flora and fauna, you can also explore the island by walking and cycling. You can bring your own bicycle or simply rent one on the island itself. The place that you must not miss is the Chek Jawa. It has remarkable collection of marine wild life. The ecosystem found on this small area cannot be found anywhere else in Singapore and is fast disappearing in other parts of the world. Have you ever seen a wild boar on an island? Well, it is nearly impossible to see one if you discover the island on yourself as they only come out at night. At Pulau Ubin you can see a real one by visiting the animal house near the Mamam Beach. Not only wild boars, you can also see peacock and wild rabbits. After a day of travelling and exploring aren't you thirsty, tired and hunger? Want to have a cold, fresh coconut drink? GETTING THERE:

Take a bus to Changi Village first

• 2, 29, 59, 109 - Alight at the Changi Village bus terminal

Then walk toward the Changi Point Ferry Terminal to board the bumboat to Pulau Ubin

Bumboat operate from Changi Point Ferry Terminal (near Changi Village) from as early as 6am until at least 8pm. The ride takes ten minutes and costs $2.50 per person ($2 extra if you are bringing your bicycle) each way. There are no scheduled departure times to and from Ubin, as bumboats set off only when there are 12 passengers.

Have you ever thought of what it is like to be standing at one of Singapore's highest natural point, over viewing the entire of Singapore, maybe not the entire but at least part of it? Have you ever wonder what it is like to be over viewing the HDB flats from a high point? If yes, then this is a place that you should not miss out! Although Mount Faber is not as high as the Bukit Timah hill, it is one of Singapore's hilltop as well and one of the oldest parks.As tourists, i believe that you would have heard of Singapore's special icon, The Cable Car. To get to Mount faber, you can either travel up by taking the Cable Car or the free shuttle bus from Harbourfront MRT station. If this is your first time traveling to Mount Faber Park, i would strongly encourage that you should try out the national icon, the 36-year-old Cable Car as i guarantee that you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view from the top. I believe that you must be worried that if the cable car is safe? As it is already 36-years old! If that's your question, not to worry, it is definitely safe. The Cable car which is now known as Jewel Cable Car have recently just been opened to the public after a year of renovation. It has an easy access for wheelchair and baby prams. Upon reaching, you can have a sumptuous dinner at the Restaurant before having a nice walk up to the park. It is best recommend that you travel up in the night to get the best view of all. Looking from the top, you will feel a sense of relaxation and it is a view that you will not forget. It is going to be the most beautiful memory that you will have of Singapore scenery.

Castle Beach At East Coast Park

Just say the name. Everyone knows where it is and how fun the place can be. "East Coast Park" (ECP).It has a total land size of 185-hectares, and a scenic coastline that stretches over 15 km. ECP is one of Singapore's most treasured urban getaways, attracting more than 7.5 million visitors a year.

ECP caters to a wide variety of fun yet fulfilling activities that anyone can enjoy at any pint of time. A wide range of sports (water ski, bowling), dining (fast-food, seafood restaurants), recreational activities (cycling, roller-skating) and many more.

In fact ECP is one of the best places to lay down the mat and sit by the seaside while relaxing your mind with your family and friends. It is common to see family and friends having bonding activities like fishing, camping, and barbequing. But one activity that not many people seem to know about is sand-castle building located at Castle Beach.

Castle Beach is situated in between of East Coast Food Village and the Bedok Jetty. It was found by a non-profit organization providing sandcastle teambuilding activities for children from under-privilege background, high-risk families and physically challenged conditions. Not just that, for those with young children, well, this is the right place to let them enjoy the sea-breeze and nature yet at the same time letting their creative minds wander into building those sand-castles. Adults at the same time who witnessed these activities would not want to miss the opportunity and may also join in the building to showcase their potential for other people to see.

Singapore Botanic Garden have a history of 151 years.

The Main Attraction of Singapore Botanic Garden is the National Orchid Garden. It has a total of over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids in the Garden’s Collection. Each Year, the number of vibrant and enduring hybrids are increasing. This gives all visitors a chance to admire and enjoy the diversity and beauty of the National Orchid Garden. Now, the Garden offers the largest display of orchids in the World. Within the National Orchid Garden, you will be to find the Burkill Hall, A colonial plantation bungalow built in 1886 and the VIP Orchid Garden with hybrids of some of the VIP orchids on display. There is also the Tan Hoon Siang Misthouse, a misthouse that was named after Tan Hoon Siang, a descendant of Tan Tock Seng. There are still lots of attractions that you are able to explore in the National Orchid Garden other than the above few that were mentioned.

They too have a small tropical rainforest, an Evolution Garden, the Ginger Garden, Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden and the three lakes (Swan Lake, Eco-Lake and Symphony Lake). Other than these, if you are exhausted after the day, you can take a break in the Restaurant within the Singapore Botanical Garden and admire the greenery scenery that surrounds the Restaurant.

Bedok Reservoir Park

The Bedok Reservoir Park is a popular jog spot and jogathons are regularly held there by schools and organizations.

The Bedok reservoir was constructed in 1986 in the Bedok Water Scheme and the park has an area of 417,000 square metres. It is equipped with many facilities such as the cycling track, jogging track, the fitness corner, playgrounds and many more. Thus many people would go to the park to do many outdoor activities like cycling, fishing, inline skating, jogging and more.

Other than the few activities listed above, the Bedok Reservoir also has water activities. Nearby schools such as Temasek Polytechnic would hold their Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) at the Bedok Reservoir. CCAs such as dragon boat and canoeing would use the Bedok Reservoir for practicing or competitions.

The park is easily accessible by the Bedok Reservoir Road, with many buses such as 69 going there.

There is also an activity available at the park called the Forest Adventure, which is an aerial course built through the trees comprising ladders, bridges, swings, nets, trapezes and giant zip lines.

There are many different things that can be located within 5km from the Bedok Reservoir, such as schools, residential areas, shopping areas, attractions, entertainment, food and beverage and many more.

Some of these areas are Temasek Polytechnic, Min Xin Primary School, Damai Secondary School, Costa Sands ECP, Changi Hotel, NTUC Resort, Bedok Point, Century Square, Bedok Market Place, NEWater Visitor Centre, Air Force Museum, Downtown East, Escape Theme Park, Bedok North Street 1 Food Centre, Tampines Round Market and Food Centre, Tampines Park.

Besides just experiencing the nature that is readily available, we as one can do our part in eco and nature by keeping the parks clean and free from unwanted items.
